Background
NEPTUNE (Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network) is an integrated group of academic medical centers, patient advocate organizations, and clinical research resources dedicated to advance the understanding and treatment of rare kidney diseases. The group uses genetic and biomarker information to identify potential treatment options for patients with active kidney disease.
Personalized health communication tools will share test results with patients and inform them of ongoing clinical trials that may be a good match given their biogenetic profile. As part of the project, the efficacy of health communication efforts will be formally evaluated.
Study Aims
The NEPTUNE project strives to bring the latest advances in research to patients diagnosed with active kidney disease with an overarching goal of utilizing precision medicine approaches in nephrology.
Funding Source
NEPTUNE is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
