MADRC Summer Internship

Description

The Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC) is an NIH-funded center focused on conducting and supporting Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia research. The MADRC also promotes state-of-the-art clinical care and wellness for individuals and families affected by memory loss, and increasing dementia awareness and understanding through collaborative education and outreach.

This internship position will reside within the MADRC Outreach and Recruitment (OR) Core. The OR Core serves as the liaison between the MADRC and key stakeholders including patients, families, research participants, and a variety of professional and lay community groups. To support the Center’s goals of advancing research and practice in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, the OR Core leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative means of health education, community outreach, and research study recruitment and retention. The interdisciplinary team is led by Scott Roberts, PhD, and also includes neurologists, nurses, and social workers.

The MADRC OR Core is pleased to offer one, paid $5,500 summer internship to a qualified SPH student. The intern will have the opportunity to match their learning goals and interests to various MADRC OR Core projects. The MADRC OR Core also greatly values educational development and supports advancing knowledge by attending lectures, workshops, and other U-M events. The MADRC internship program has partnered with UM SPH since 2015, and it is thrilled to welcome another qualified candidate to the OR Core team. This is a summer internship, with end-date at the beginning of the Fall semester.
